Anomic Base – Wyvern Class Supercarrier Antero

Aug 17 – DANGER: – CCP have buffed some Anomic missions without warning. If you run them check the forums for current fits. Please Read – EvE Forum Post Discussion

Last completed 27 May 17I won’t be doing this mission again, the risk is too high for such a poor reward. Even the loot drops sucked.

( Complete mission video ) – 19 mins without warp out.
Use this as a ‘what not to do’ tutorial. Also, low slot module layout is not perfect for heat distribution, I have fixed that.

I have lost 4 x Vigilant’s so far on the live server.
Vigilant 1 , Vigilant 2 , Vigilant 3 , And the fourth
Over a Billion Isk and all my fault !!

Be careful, this is a very unforgiving mission.
Definitely the hardest Anomic with the least reward.

Mission Update:
The attack range of the Dragonfly is 150km. If you are outside that range they will not attack. You can use this to repair and rebuild cap.

So it seems that Hijackers stole a Wyvern-class Supercarrier Antero from the Caldari Navy on behalf of the Guristas and then double crossed them. The end result is a Wyvern sitting outside a repair facility with modified Dragonfly Fighters and Mantis Fighter Bombers as the only means of support.

Having gained the skills I needed to fly the Railgun fitted Vigilant, I ended up losing several of them on the test server . I replayed the capture several times to figure out what went wrong and made notes. Eventually I plucked up the courage to take it to the live server and after several heart stopping moments, and 2 warp outs, killed the last Mantis.  Not a brilliant success but the mission was accomplished.

Total Ship bounty is a paltry 13.5 Million Isk. 7 Million less than other base missions.
Dragonfly and Mantis drop loot boxes, on test I got a Gila BPC with one run. During the live mission I got nothing of interest.
If you bring friends and trap the Wyvern and kill it there is no ship bounty but it does drop some funny commodities.  (search GamingWithDaOpa on YouTube)

The Enemy:
9 x heavily modified Dragonfly Fighters
9 x heavily modified Mantis Fighter Bombers

The Dragonfly fighters are brutal, there is no other way to describe the onslaught once you are hit by all three of them. They will approach at 2000 m/s and maintain an orbit velocity of 1200 m/s. They will automatically Stasis Webify and Warp Disrupt (2 points) you within 16 km. They will attack your drones, but don’t expect that to lessen the amount of incoming damage you will receive.

The Mantis Fighter Bombers will punish anyone not able to tank EM damage as they fire Dread Guristas Mjolnir Torpedos. They approach at 900 m/s and settle in an orbit around 18 km. They will Warp Disrupt (1 point) you from 50km and attack your drones.

The Wyvern-class Supercarrier Antero will lock and fire but all damage is registered as zero.

Before you activate the gate:
Check Ammo – Javelin M
Check Capacitor Boosters loaded
Check existing Damage to modules, ensure you are free of damage.
Ensure you have Drones
Overload Hardeners
Overload Guns

On Landing:
You should land approximately 30 km from the Antero and 3 x Dragonfly.
The Dragonflies will stop orbiting the Wyvern and Warp Disrupt you instantly.
Lock all three and approach.
Chose a Dragonfly and activate both Stasis Webifiers once the target reaches 10km.
Activate Railguns – Javelin M.
Activate Tank and Armor Repairer.
Commit Drones to the targeted Dragonfly.
Watch your overload status. Even with max skills and proper placement you could burn out your tank in as little as 1 minute and 20 seconds.
Even though you are Stasis Webified and Warp Disrupted you must ensure you keep moving. Approach the targeted Dragonfly and be ready to approach another when it dies.
Boost capacitor as necessary (you can use 800’s).
On killing the first dragonfly remove the overload on both your hardeners and armor repairer. Double check they actually turned off !
Kill the other 2 Dragonflies.

Depending how far you are from the Wyvern will depend on whether you are Warp Disrupted immediately by the Burner Mantis. Their Disruption range is 50km !!
The good news is that the Vigilant hull can tank 3 Mantis without problem, this gives you some time in the mission to breath, regroup, repair or plan your escape (which is what I did).  If you want to escape, draw the Mantis away from the Supercarrier.
To kill them, load Caldari Navy Antimatter.
Active the After Burner and approach a Mantis.
Overload Faction Web and activate.
At 14km, turn off After Burner and remove the overload from the Faction Webifier.
Ensure drones are engaged.
Activate Railguns.
You do not have to activate your second Stasis Webifier. Your speed should allow you to close and kill the Mantis.
Do not stop! Watch your closure rate.

If you want to escape and repair make sure the last Mantis is away from the carrier when you kill it. 50km seems to be enough to recall drones, pick a celestial and warp. Remember the next wave will be Dragonflies traveling at 2km /s

On killing the last Mantis you will get the following message in local chat:
Message > *** Wyvren-class Supercarrier Antero prepare to perform a emergency warp ***
